That depends on the peel, the home ones won't really do much, you need to use them repeatedly to really see any difference (they don't have a high enough concentration of the chemicals). Some spas will do peels but you need to go to a medi-spa or a dermatologist in order to get the really good ones and they aren't cheap. For a home or spa peel, your skin will feel nice and smooth but like I said, it'll take a few treatments to really see a difference. If you go with a medi-spa or a dermatologist, you'll need to take a week or so off work/school because you'll look like a sunburned monster but it will make the biggest immediate difference, even then you might need more than one treatment.
Really, it depends on your skin, you need to speak with a Dr. Also, you may not be able to do any of the above if you've been on certain medications. For example, if you've finished a round of accutane you need to wait 6 months before you can have any peels.
