What is a facial peel?

Can you explain the process? does it mean peeling your face?

i was thinking of buying a peel kit at Macy's because my skin look really dull. What is a facial peel?
A facial peel basically is a chemical that burns off the top layer of skin on your face. Initially your face will probably go very red, but that will settle down and you will have a nicer looking complexion. That is why so many people do it.

However, there is a down side. It can cause a lot of damage to your skin since it removes the protective layer and exposes the sub layers to the elements. Some people even experience scarring.

I do not recommend facial peels to anyone. Ever.

There are some natural ways you can increase a healthy look to your skin:

First of all, drink lots of water. It helps to remove the toxins from the cells and creates a more supple look.

Next, eat more Omega-3 fatty acids. They can be found in such things as salmon, walnuts and flaxseed. if you really can't stomach those foods, Omega-3 can also be bought as a supplement from most health food stores.

Also try to keep away from smoke as it ages the skin quickly. What is a facial peel?
it is caused by dry, not enough water in skin
A peel is a more intense exfoliation- usually through chemicals. Anything you can purchase at a store should be pretty gentle- it will remove the dea skin cells on the top layer but you won't have skin peeling off like after a sunburn or anything. Only a doctor can give you a chemical peel that has that stronger acid content. I LOVE the peels by Philosophy- especially the Oxygen Peel, and it is very gentle for all skin types.
A facial peel is a cosmetic, chemical treatment that can be performed at ,by or with a dermatologist to help lessen the appearance of blemishes, freckles, age spots, light scarring, and any number of other skin irregularities on the face.
its peeling dead skin

Basically, a peel removes the top layer of dead skin to reveal the new skin underneath.

It is best that you go to a beauty therapist to get a peel done, as they can explain the process. But have you tried using a exfoliant? as they help with dull skin, and drink heaps of water.
